On New Year’s Day, you may feel like you are a blank slate, ready and excited to start again. But as the winter is slowly coming to an end and the sweet sounds of Spring are beginning to sound, you most definitely will feel the spring-cleaning itch and feel another sense of enthusiasm and excitement for something new.
This year, we thought it would be fun to focus on our self-care routines. After the last year we’ve all dealt with, we think it’s more important than ever to pay attention to what we are doing for ourselves. *Self-care enters the chat*.
That’s why we are going to spruce up our routines – starting on the New Moon as that is the best time to introduce anything into your life. Here are 5 things we are going to try and incorporate this Spring as the weather finally gets warmer and the sun shines longer and brighter.
Change or Re-Arrange Your Environment
You may ask what your environment has to do with self-care but remember you are a product of your environment! If you’re trying to get work done at a messy desk, chances are that you’ll be a little less productive than if you cleared it up and had a clean space to work in.
If you want to feel rejuvenated take some time to assess your living and working spaces and maybe switch around the furniture, give them a good cleaning, or you can switch around accessories between rooms. Believe us, little changes can sometimes make for a larger impact than you’d imagine.
Unplug
Mental rest can be just as important as physical rest. With socialization at an all-time low in 2020 social media, the news, basically all screens have been a place where we have been spending more time than usual. So, we are committed to putting our phones away and unplugging for a certain amount of time each day. Even if you start your morning unplugged for the first hour, or the last hour before bed, it will provide you with some much-needed mental rest!
Get Out! And Stay Out
We mean exploring nature and getting outside to the fresh air. With warmer temperatures, your lungs and your overall mood will be improved by getting out and moving. You’ll feel happier, you will find yourself more energized and you’ll be simultaneously improving your health.
Up Your Essential Oils Game
Essential oils have really made a comeback over the last few years, natural medicines and practices just feel a lot cleaner, don’t they? We love our essential oils, whether we are adding them to diffusers or rolling them on directly there are so many possibilities. Each oil provides a unique benefit and combining them means that you have a never-ending number of possibilities to try. Getting to know your oils will also mean you’re taking the time to learn something new, and when was the last time you did that?
Keep your Water Always Full
Every hour we are making sure your bottle or glass is full! Staying hydrated is super easy and the benefits are endless; improving brain function, increasing energy levels, preventing headaches, boosting skin health, regulating body temperature just to name a few. So never be thirsty Moonbabes!
Most importantly as we are taking the time to practice self-care, we want to remember that not all our days will be good ones. Sometimes things will be challenging, and you won’t be able to hit your goals or achieve what you’d like. On those off days, remember to be kind to yourself, and that a new day will always bring new things.
